The shy British-born designer is to be replaced by a fellow Briton, Clare Waight Keller.
.Known for its romantic, fluid designs, Chloe has struggled in recent years to duplicate the success it enjoyed under Phoebe Philo, now at cross-town rival Celine.
Here's a peek inside the newcomer.
In 2000 she was hired by Tom Ford at Gucci to work alongside Francisco Costa and Christopher Bailey as a senior designer. This was followed by her role as creative director of Pringle of Scotland in 2005.
Clare Waight Keller is the woman responsible for transforming heritage label Pringle of Scotland into a contemporary fashion brand since she was appointed creative director.
Her first collection as the head of Chloé will be presented in September 2011 in Paris during the capital’s next Fashion Week.
