A royal wedding

And at the end, was Sara Burton for Alexander Mc Queen who design it...here Courtesy of WWD, the designers opinion of the Royal wedding dress.

Karl Lagerfeld: “She is very elegant. The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of (Queen) Elizabeth’s wedding, the royal weddings in the Fifties. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot.”

Christian Lacroix: “I like the dress very much, simpler than expected: A combination just in between 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress. I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother’s Thirties scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She’s radiant; She never was so beautiful. And Prince William’s red Irish uniform is gorgeous.”

Hubert de Givenchy: “The dress is very simple and very nice. The veil is a little flat, but because she has such a lovely face, she can afford to wear it this way. She is very pretty.” About choosing a dress from McQueen, whose founder committed suicide last year, De Givenchy said: “It’s a lovely thought, a nice tribute.”

Peter Copping of Nina Ricci: “Very much in a royal tradition, reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth’s – and a little bit Grace Kelly. She looks happy, radiant and natural.”

Donatella Versace: "Kate's dress was beautiful. She looked very regal."

Viktor & Rolf: “Kate’s dress was simply elegant. Her hair down was a beautiful and natural touch, and the tiara was stunning. She looked as at-ease as humanly possible and was radiant. Our compliments.”

Elie Saab: “It was a very elegant dress, subtly refined and discreet, in keeping with her style. I would have liked it even more with a little extra volume and a longer train.”

Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design at H&M: "Kate Middleton’s dress is beautiful. She looks absolutely stunning today at the royal wedding. The lace together with the long sleeves really showed the craftsmanship and hours of work that has gone into creating a dress like this. The dress suits Kate Middleton perfectly and Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen surely lived up to my expectations. I also think that the lovely flower bouquet will set the trend for many brides to be"

Mark Badgley of Badgley Mischka, speaking for hinself and James Mischka: "James and I have goose bumps! The dress is perfection; and will stand the test of time. It is a classic Grace Kelly look. The skirt is divine. We love the hair down and the veil. The proportion is beautiful."

Antonio Marras, Kenzo: “McQueen was a brilliant choice. The choice of the label and the style of the dress was a very clever mix between edgy fashion and tradition - all in a very British way. You could see references to Grace Kelly or Queen Elizabeth's dresses, but in a simpler, more modern way. I loved her hair down. It looked perfectly natural and noble. Truly royal."

Alexis Mabille: “Kate’s dress is a classic, very elegant and pure…. It reminds me of Princess Grace’s wedding dress in a modern version with deeper cleavage, the draping at the back in reference to McQueen.”

Dennis Basso: "I love that dress. It epitimiizes the modern bride: covered, but still sexy with its tight bodice. The lace overlay and the covered-up look will certainly set a trend."

Ralph Rucci of Chado Ralph Rucci: "I love it. I'm so glad she went with Sarah Burton, who is brilliant. The dress encompasses all the necessities of the protocal a future Queen should represent. It rings in a youthfulness that reflects the future monarchy."
Prabal Gurung: “I thought it was pretty and appropriate. A high-profile wedding like this is not the place for making a crazy fashion moment. It sounds like an oxymoron but it was a personal moment in a very public place. The dress clearly said she’s a modern girl and of this generation. It was not McQueen at its theatrical sense but McQueen in its quiet but beautiful sense. I loved the bustle and how her silk tulle veil was moving softly in the wind.”

Jason Wu: “I thought Catherine’s dress looked stunning. The details were very well done and I loved the emphasis on craftsmanship and the use of British talent. Her choice to pay tribute to Alexander McQueen was both touching and exciting.”

Here is what the designer of the dress, Sarah Burton had to say:

The last few months have been very exciting and an incredible experience for my team and I as we have worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of the strictest secrecy.  Understandably, Catherine has been very keen to keep the details of her dress a secret, which is every bride's prerogative, and we gave an undertaking to keep our role confidential until the day of the wedding
.

Personally, I loved Pippa's one, also from Sarah Burton.

Red & Beige

Lipsticks apart, I am not a big fan of the color red but I love the combination with nude hues...what do you think?

Three times Kate Moss

In May 2011, Kate Moss landed three Vogue covers and one Harper’s Bazaar. The Voguecovers are this latest issue of Vogue Brazil-where the 37 year old British supermodel wore nothing than just gold cuffs photographed by the famed Mario Testino; Emmanuelle Alt's second issue cover girl of Vogue Paris; and she’s the first cover girl for the name changing issue from Vogue Nippon to Vogue Japan.

American Beauty: at first I didn't like this movie, then I realize how good  It is on so many levels, cast, story, twists,ending...
Vicky Cristina Barcelona: if only for how sexy Penelope Cruz and Xavier Bardem are.
Memento: crazy, interesting screenplay
Closer: the most quotable movie ever

A.Leibovitz

I will not take "but" for an answer: Norman Kingsley Mailer

Norman Kingsley Mailer (January 31, 1923 – November 10, 2007) was an American novelist, journalist, essayst, poet, playwright, screenwriter and film director.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Restaurants.
What do you dislike most about your appearance?
Forgive me. I'll skip this laundry list.
What is your greatest regret?
The memory of the books I promised to write and didn't.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Wasting my days.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Beauty, mystery, wit, and the inner superiority to be above political correctness.
Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Let's say not the hero but the protagonist from whom I learned the most. That might be Anna Karenina.

I want to be the woman he likes...

Did your mother ever go on diets?

Ingrid Sischy and Karl Lagerfeld,  Karl Lagerfeld Diet

- I remember that when I was twenty-four my mother telephoned to wish me happy birthday and said: «Oh, by the way, from twenty-four onwards it’s downhill all the way. So you would do well to start taking precautions now. You can say goodbye to your youth.» I dont’ know why she had chosen twenty-four, but I have remembered it all my life. I remember exactly which room I was in when she called me.
- And you really started taking care of your skin after that?
- Yes, but I have to admit that I never gave her the credit for it. She didn’t have the same criteria as I did, I suppose. She always said things that applied to her, such as: «No short-sleeved dress after the age of forty, one’s elbow look too old.» I never in my life saw my mother in a short-sleeved dress.
- Did your mother ever go on diets?
- No, she never ate.

In the pink

Meaning: In perfect condition, especially of health.

Origin: The general usage of this phrase has altered somewhat since it first entered the language. We now usually see it with the specific meaning of 'the pink of condition', i.e. in the best possible health. It is tempting but, as it turns out, misguided, to assume an association between 'the pink of condition' and the healthily glowing pink cheeks of new-born babies or energetic sportsmen/sportswomen and the like.

The earliest citations of 'in the pink' are from the 16th century and, at that time, the meaning was 'the very pinnacle of something', but not necessarily limited to health. The earliest example that I can find of pink being used with that meaning is from 1597 Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, 1597:
Mercurio: Why, I am the very pinke of curtesie.

Yoghurt (I think I can definitely live out of that)

Stonyfield Farm's Oikos

You may now kiss the bride

Speaking about models Natasha Poly tied the knot with Dutch businessman Peter Bakker
in a three-day-long celebration in St. Tropez. The bride was wearing a white, long sleeved Givenchy gown and the over 200 guests were entertained with a private concert by Leona Lewis.
What do you think of the dress?

Love this man

I have a huge crush on Paul Newman.

Not for "Road to Perdition", not because when asked once about infidelity, he famously quipped, "Why go out for a hamburger when you have steak at home?" and he was actually known for being devoted to his wife and family,

not because he founded a food company, not because he was racing and he won several national championships as a drive, just because he was hot.
.

Let me google that for you

Next time someone asks if you know something (for example, “what was the URL for that Milky coffee you told me about?”) simply go to Let me google that for you.com, put in whatever it is they should’ve googled in the first place, then send them the link it spits out to show them how it’s done. Made me laugh. (Via swiss-miss)

Let's go to the movies

Just to keep you updated...This are the movies I saw recently:
Blue Valentine: like it,  the cross-cutting between time periods is intersting and Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling are really good...she is suppose to be over-annoying, and she does and he is cute in his way of trying to be cute all the time.
Burlesque: I thought it was bad but i kinda like it, and Christina Aguilera's performances made me google "burlesque lessons in Nyc" the same day.
The fighters: go watch it!
Black swan: eventhough I usually not like unrealistic movies (but Mulholland drive), this is definitely a good one...Mila Kunis is the next big thing. (btw: I also googled "ballet classes in Nyc") and Vincent Cassl is hot.
The king speech: I.got.bored.
Love and other drugs: Good movie, I enjoyed it...when she is on the sofa and she laughs she is so "Julia Roberts".
What do you suggest me next?

Love this girl

Maybe you don't know her already...if you do I am sure you'd like to know more... I always liked Ambra Medda because she co-founded one of the best new design fairs when she was in her 20es, because she can wear funny hats without being english or looking silly, she has dimples when she smiles and she is chic..
